NVR REPAIR DATABASE ISSUE – Alibi Network Recorders
PROBLEM:
Database bug in firmware V4.1.50 that causes the hard drive(s) to go into a repairing state which results in loss of Playback during the repairing process and can slow down the performance of the recorder when this occurs. While we have located the root issue, we have not been able to identify what triggers the issue to occur in recording devices.
SOLUTION:
Our Technical Support and Product Teams have identified two fixes for this issue:
Option 1: UPGRADE FIRMWARE
Follow proper procedures to upgrade to firmware V4.21.005 and then manually Repair Database from the local user interface (see screen below). NOTE: this process can take up to 1 hour per TB.
Visit the Alibi Recorder Firmware Page.
Option 2: REFORMAT THE HARD DRIVES
You may also reformat the hard drive(s) to restore the database, if the current video on the HDD does not need to be retained. This option will erase all data from the hard drives so please offload or download video prior reformatting, if that video is needed for archiving.
