MOBILE APP


1. Where can I download the mobile app?
The desktop client and mobile apps are available on our download page. Or you can search for the mobile apps in the iTune App Store or Google Play Search for Alibi Cloud VS.

2. How do I reset my password using the mobile app?
From the main app login screen, click on the ‘Forgot your password?’ link and enter your email address to get a new temporary password. You may need to log out from the app in the account settings menu (upper right) before you see the ‘Forgot your password?’ link.

3. How can I add a camera to the application via the mobile app?

Wireless setup and activation via the Mobile App

IMPORTANT: All wireless cameras must be physically connected to the network to be recognized and added to the user account. Connect the camera with an Ethernet cable directly to an internet connected router or switch before starting the process.

  1. Launch the mobile app and select ‘Add a Camera’
  2. Enter a name for the ‘Zone’ you want your camera in and then touch the ‘Next’ button
  3. Select ‘Add a CloudCam’ List of available cameras will appear on the screen
  4. Tap the camera from the list and enter a name
  5. Camera is now added to the account
  6. To connect it to the WiFi network, click on the gear symbol in the lower right corner
  7. Select the camera, under Network Settings choose WiFi
  8. Select the WiFi network and when prompted, enter the WiFi password
  9. Once connected to WiFi you can remove the network cable from the camera.
  10. Your Cloud-enabled camera is ready to use!
  11. To activate additional cameras, select the home button, push the settings widget and then ‘Add a new camera’

Wired (PoE) Setup and Activation via Mobile App

IMPORTANT: The instructions below are for activating a wired, PoE cloud-enabled camera. PoE cameras need to be hard-wired into a network that has an internet connection on the same LAN.

  1. Launch the mobile app and select ‘Add a Camera’
  2. Enter a name for the ‘Zone’ you want your camera in and then touch the ‘Next’ button
  3. Select ‘Add a CloudCam’
  4. A list of available cameras will appear on the screen
  5. Tap the camera from the list and enter a name
  6. Camera will be added to the account
  7. Your Cloud-enabled camera is ready to use!
  8. To activate additional cameras, select the home button, click the settings widget and then ‘Add a new camera’ then follow steps 3-7 above.

DESKTOP APP


1. How do I reset my password using the desktop app?

  1. Login to the desktop client and select ‘Settings’
  2. Click on Users Tab, just below Settings
  3. On the Account tab, select ‘Change Password’ to the right of the name field
  4. You will then be prompted to enter your current password and to set a new password

2. How can I add a camera to my account using the desktop client?

  1. Launch the desktop client

  3. Available cameras will appear on the screen
  4. Select the ‘Auto-connect’ button next to the camera you want to add
  5. Once you see ‘Successfully Connected’ click ‘Next’
  6. Select ‘Setup wireless connection’
  7. Select the local WiFi network and enter the password
  8. Once connected to WiFi you can remove the network cable from the camera.
  9. Click ‘Finish and Go Live’
  10. Your Cloud-enabled camera is ready to use!
  11. Repeat steps 2-10 to add additional cameras.

Wired (PoE) Setup and Installation – Desktop Client

  1. Launch the desktop client

  3. Available cameras will appear on the screen

3. How can I view my camera images live?

In the top menu bar select ‘Live’ to enable the live viewing of video from your camera(s). You can configure how many cameras you want to view at one time by choose ‘View Zone’ next to the camera list on the left.

4. Where can I configure my camera settings?

In order to change the settings for any specific camera, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click the ‘Settings’ tab on the top left corner of the application
  2. Click ‘Cameras’ and click on the name of the camera on the left hand side of the screen for which you would like to change the settings

How do I change the video quality settings of my camera?

  1. Go to ‘Settings’ and select the camera of which you want to change the settings
  2. Go to ‘Video and Sound’ to change the bandwidth, resolution and frames per second (FPS)

5. How do I use the motion, sound or infrared sensors of the cameras?

Activate the motion, sound, or infrared sensors on your camera in the desktop client application.

  1. Go to ‘Settings’
  2. Click on ‘Cameras’ in the upper right corner
  3. Select the camera of which you would like to change the motion-, sound-, and/or infrared detection settings
  4. Go to ‘Schedule & notifications’
  5. Click with the left mouse button on the timeline at CLVR, motion detection, sound detection or infrared detection. With the mouse button pressed, drag the cursor over the desired time interval. Where the timeline becomes yellow, the interval is set
  6. Click on ‘Save’

6. How do I turn off push notifications?

Turn off notifications for all mobile devices

To turn off notifications for all mobile devices, you need to turn off notifications in the installed desktop client application:

  1. Go to ‘Settings’
  2. In the top right click on ‘Cameras’
  3. Select the camera for which you want to configure the settings for motion detection
  4. Go to ‘Camera info
  5. Under ‘Camera Mode’ select ‘Silent – Recording on, notifications off’
  6. Click on ‘Save’
  7. Repeat for each camera you want to turn off notifications for.

Turn off notifications for a specific mobile device:

If you want to turn off notifications on a specific mobile device, you need to configure the settings on the mobile device itself.

  1. Open the Alibi Cloud VS app on the mobile device
  2. Go the ‘Account Settings’ menu by clicking the person icon in the upper right
  3. Under ‘Notification Settings’ toggle Push Notifications OFF

7. How can I control the bandwidth that the camera is using?

With bit rate control you can easily restrict the amount of bandwidth used by your camera. If you have many devices on your network, or you simply do not have a lot of bandwidth to begin with, you can restrict your camera bandwidth between ? and 2 Mb/s.

  1. To use bandwidth control:
  2. Go to ‘Settings'
  3. Select the camera for which you want to manage the bandwidth
  4. Go to ‘Footage settings'
  5. Underneath the preview screen, click on the beam to set a maximum bandwidth. Choose between 1/8 and 2 Mb/s

CAMERAS


1. How can I add my camera to a WiFi network?

  1. Add the camera to your account. If you have trouble doing so, please follow the steps in the FAQ above ‘How can I add a camera to my account?”
  2. Click ‘Configure wireless connection’ in the pop-up window of the installation wizard
  3. A new pop-up window opens. Some fields will be prefilled. Modify the fields by typing in the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID), the communication mode, the type of encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.) and the password. Click ‘Save‘
  4. Remove the Ethernet cable when the wizard indicates that you should do so. The camera now switches automatically to the connection via the Wi-Fi network

2. What are the optimal bandwidth requirements – upload and download speeds - for Alibi Cloud VS cameras?

We recommend upload and download speeds between 1Mbps – 2Mbps (per camera) to get optimal performance from your Alibi Cloud VS solution.

3. Is WiFi mandatory for my camera or can I also use it wired?

The WiFi cameras can be used both wired and wireless. When adding the camera to your account, you connect and activate the camera to your router via Ethernet cable. If desired leave the Ethernet cable in the router for a wired connection. Or follow the wireless setup, to use the camera via a wireless connection.

4. How can I get professional installation for my camera?

5. Which WiFi networks does the camera support?

The wireless cameras offered support 802.11n/b/g WiFi networks

6. How can I add a camera to a WiFi network?

IMPORTANT: The following steps only work after you have connected the camera via a wired connection.

  1. Go to ‘Settings’ in the application and select the camera from the list on the left side
  2. Click on ‘Wireless settings’. Some fields will be prefilled. Modify the fields by typing in the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID), the communication mode, the type of encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.) and the password
  3. Click ‘Save’
  4. Remove the Ethernet cable when the application indicates that you should do so
  5. The camera now switches automatically to the connection via the Wi-Fi network.

Note: If the SSID or password is entered incorrectly, the camera light will not turn green, one minute after removal of the LAN / Ethernet cable. When this happens, disconnect the camera from the power supply. Reconnect the camera with the LAN / Ethernet cable and power supply and fill in the details for WiFi again.

7. Can I use any cameras on the Alibi Cloud VS solution?

No. Only cameras that have been cloud-enabled to work with our Camera-to-Cloud solution will be able to capture and send video directly to the cloud. The IP wireless and wired cameras we currently offer as part of this solution can be found here.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT


1. How do I cancel my Alibi Cloud VS service?
Cloud services can only be changed or cancelled by contacting the local dealer who installed your cameras and setup your service.
