Line Crossing Detection
The Line Crossing feature enables you to draw a virtual line anywhere within the camera’s view, which acts as a pass-through alert point. The camera monitors this line and can be set to sound an alarm, start recording or send a notification whenever a person or object crosses a designated threshold.

- Easy setup to identify objects that move from one direction to another, or that move across the line in either direction
- Adjustable camera sensitivity allows you to set maximum and minimum size of objects to be detected, preventing false alarms and/or event triggers
- Line crossing analytics are more reliable than traditional motion detection, because sensitivity settings can be configured to reduce the incidence of false alarms
- The VCA Search feature saves time by allowing you to quickly find, review and download video of Line Crossing events
- The Video Playback feature allows you to easily review and analyze Line Crossing events
- Customized triggered event recording reduces hard drive storage requirements

Line crossing events could include:
- A person climbs over a fence, or crosses a facility perimeter
- A person enters a restricted area, such as a stock room, medical supply closet, or server room
- A person or vehicle enters an apartment complex or office building after hours
- A vehicle enters a parking lot via the exit, or exits in the wrong direction
